11.11_Pavilion_A Book is a Sequence of Spaces

The pavilion stands as a manifesto for both the physical book as well as for the institution of the bookshop.

The proposal draws on the notion of the book as a sequence of spaces and pages within a container. The aim is to create an architecture which is evocative of the hardback and the narrative it encloses. As such the pavilions design ought to stress experience and emotion.

The objective is to juxtapose this experiential side with the commercial aspect of multinational co-corporations as Amazon establishing a critique on the abusiveness of the latter both towards publishers as to individuals. Amazon as a website which denies the human contact of the book store experience as well as the publishers
